OUR STORY
SINCE CHILDHOOD, Dr. Patadia has found joy in various forms of art, including painting, drawing, embroidery, music, dance, henna, and photography. She pursued dentistry because it is a unique blend of art and science. The clinical knowledge that improves oral health provides the foundation for creating a beautiful smile. Like an artist strives for unique creations, Dr. Patadia believes each patient deserves a uniquely tailored experience with compassionate care. Moving away from corporate & generic dental settings, she created Artisan Dental of Livermore to bring a personalized, handcrafted touch back to modern dentistry.

dR. USHMA PATADIA
Dr. Patadia was born in Gujarat, India, and moved to Connecticut when she was three years old. While on the east coast, she graduated from NYU with a degree in Public Health and received her DMD degree from the UConn School of Dental Medicine. Wanting to further hone her skills, she completed a rigorous general practice residency program at Hartford Hospital before moving to California.
She prioritizes continued education and participates in the local chapter of the Seattle Study Club, an international organization that prioritizes collaborative and innovative dental care. She is a proud member of the California Dental Association and the Southern Alameda County Dental Society.
Outside of the office, you can find Dr. Patadia on a hiking trail, in the kitchen trying out a new recipe, or in downtown Livermore grabbing a cup of coffee. Most recently, she’s enjoying the adventure of motherhood. She is a proud resident of Livermore and passionate about serving her community through dentistry.

how often should I go to the dentist?
The American Dental Association recommends dental visits once every 6 months. These routine exams are crucial for offering conservative treatment and preventing issues before they arise. We emphasize prevention to help you maintain the healthiest possible smile, though some patients may require more frequent visits based on their individual needs.
WHAT CAN I EXPECT AT MY FIRST APPOINTMENT?
The first visit is all about getting to know you and evaluating your oral health. We start off with an office tour, and then begin a thorough, comprehensive exam, which includes oral cancer screening, intra-oral and extra-oral exams, periodontal (gum health) measurements, and imaging (x-rays and photographs). Based on this data and our discussion of your dental concerns, we work with you to prioritize next steps in treatment to ensure a healthy, beautiful smile. Depending on each patient’s needs, we may or may not be able to complete a cleaning at the first visit.

are dental x-rays safe and necessary?
Dental radiographs allow for proper diagnosis and treatment of your teeth. They can detect cavities, bone loss, infections, and other anomalies. The radiation from dental x-rays is minimal, but we always weigh the risks against the benefits when recommending x-rays. Our office uses state-of-the-art digital sensors that produce high quality images with the lowest possible radiation dose. We also specialize in alternative, no-radiation intraoral imaging techniques, such as transillumination and fluorescence, to supplement x-rays.
